Staffing

How large is your fundraising program as it relates to staffing? When considering your organization's budget, do you feel that you have the staff in place to achieve your revenue goal?

We have 4 FT equivalents and raise most of our funds from the industry. We use a proprietary software developed for us by Data Solutions in VA.

We have a full time fundraising staff of 29 and we raise about 35 million dollars a year. The size of our staff increased due to the large goal amount we are trying to achieve through our capital campaign. This campaign is still in the private phase.

Just me all by my lonesome . . .I am the first full time development person and I am expected to fill the gap between state set rates and the actual cost of the programs.

Of those responding thus far, there is definitely a wide range of perspectives about how fundraising programs can work. If you've worked in a small, a medium and a larger organization, which is your preference and why?
